Financial Assistance to Pravasi Sanghoms

Norka-Roots’ one-time financial assistance to Pravasi Sangham is aimed at improving the performance of Pravasi cooperative societies working on the rehabilitation and economic improvement of  NRKS & returned NRKS.  The financial assistance is distributed as share parity (up to Rs.1 lakh) and working capital (Rs.2 lakh). It is equivalent to five times the paid-up share capital of the co-operative societies or a maximum of Rs.1 lakh, whichever is less, the said amount shall be given as share parity and Rs.2 lakh as working capital. Out of which the share parity is equivalent to five times the paid-up share capital of the co-operative societies or a maximum of Rs.1 lakh, and Rs.2 lakh as working capital.
 

The Sangham should have at least 50 members at the time of application and must have completed 2 years since registration. Class A and B members should be expatriates/returnees. The bye-law should have provisions for accepting assistance from the Government. The audit report of the previous financial year of the Sangham should also be produced with application.
 

The assistance is intended for starting enterprises that provide employment and income to at least 10 persons. The supported enterprises should focus on public interest areas such as manufacturing, service, IT, and employment initiatives (e.g., agriculture, animal husbandry, dairy development, small-scale industry, fisheries, value-added product manufacturing, service sector, manufacturing sector) or to upscale existing enterprises. A working capital of two lakh rupees is provided for development. Funding of enterprises individually/collectively carried out by the members of the Sangham.
