What is NORKA Care Plus?
NORKA Roots introduces the next phase of the NORKA Care Project, namely NORKA Care Plus. This enhanced scheme offers greater flexibility, higher coverage limits, and improved support for the expatriate community.
Launch (Announcement)

- Enrollment started on 12th March 2026-12thApril 2026(same day as launch – global registration drive began)
Scheme Implementation (Policy Start)
- Insurance coverage became active from:
15th April 2026
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a Non-Resident Keralite (NRK) holding a valid NORKA Roots ID Card
- Age Limit: 18 to 80 years
Policy Details
- Group Mediclaim (GMC)-Coverage up to ₹1,00,00000
- Group Personal Accident (GPA)-Coverage up to ₹10,00,000-10000000
- The GMC policy provides coverage for:
- Spouse (18-80)
- Parent / Spouse’ Parent (18-80)
- Up to two dependent children (0-25)
- Up to three additional children(0-25)can be included by paying an extra Enrollment fee
- The GPA policy provides individual accident coverage for the Master member(NRK ID holder).
NORKA CARE PLUS – Key Highlights
- Health Insurance (GMC) coverage up to ₹1 Crore and Personal Accident Insurance (GPA) up to ₹1 Crore are available at an affordable Enrollment fee
- Individuals can enroll even with pre-existing diseases, without any medical check-up or health declaration.
- Eligibility Age: 18 to 80 years.
- Option to include parents or spouse’s parents up to 80 years of age (subject to plan selection).
- Multiple Sum Insured options available:
₹5 lakh ₹10 lakh, ₹15 lakh, ₹20 lakh, ₹25 lakh, ₹50 lakh, and ₹1 crore.

- Spouse
- Up to 2 children
- Option to include up to 3 additional children (with extra premium)
- Parents / spouse’s parents (as per plan eligibility)
- Existing members under NORKA Care can newly enroll in NORKA Care Plus.
- Returning expatriates can continue the policy after returning to India, subject to applicable conditions.
- Enrollment must be completed within the specified period; late enrollment is not permitted after the window closes.

- Covered up to ₹5,000 per claim
- AYUSH Treatments (Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Homeopathy):
Covered up to ₹50,000 per year (Reimbursement) - Maternity: Not covered
- However, newborn baby is covered from date of birth
- Cataract Treatment:
Covered up to ₹30,000 per eye per year - Hospitalization Requirement:
Minimum 24-hour hospitalization required
(Exception: Day-care procedures such as chemotherapy, dialysis, etc.) - Cashless Treatment:
Available in 688 hospitals in Kerala and 20,000+ hospitals across India

Option 2 – ₹10 Lakh to ₹1 Crore Sum Insured Plans
- Applicable for:
- Norka ID card holder
- Spouse
- Up to 2 children
- Parents / spouse’s parents CAN be included
- Entry Age:
- Member: 18 to 70 years
- Parents: Up to 80 years
- Room Rent (including nursing charges):
Up to ₹10,000 per day - ICU Charges (including nursing charges):
Up to ₹20,000 per day
Pre-existing Disease
Covered from Day 1 without any waiting period.
Maternity
Not covered. Any illness or treatment arising out of or related to maternity is excluded from this policy.
Baby Day 1 Cover
Covered from Day 1, provided the baby is admitted separately from the maternity admission.
Treatment for Mental or Psychiatric Illness
Covered up to INR 25,000 on an inpatient (IPD) basis.
Ambulance Charges
Covered up to a maximum of INR 2,000 per hospitalization.
Waiting Period
NO waiting Period
Pre & Post Hospitalization Cover
30 days pre-hospitalization and 30 days post-hospitalization expenses are covered, limited to INR 5,000 per claim.
Lasik Surgery
Covered if the power exceeds ±7.5 diopters, up to INR 60,000.
Ailment Capping (Cataract)
Cataract treatment is covered up to INR 30,000 per eye, including the cost of the lens.
AYUSH Treatments
Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha & Homeopathy treatments are covered up to INR 50,000 per year.
Advanced Treatments (As per Group Mediclaim Policy Terms and Conditions)
- Uterine Artery Embolization and HIFU – Covered up to INR 50,000 per policy period.
- Balloon Sinuplasty – Covered up to INR 40,000 per policy period.
- Deep Brain Stimulation – Covered up to 10% of Sum Insured, maximum INR 50,000 per policy period.
- Oral Chemotherapy – Covered up to 25% of Sum Insured, maximum INR 50,000 per policy period.
- Immunotherapy (Monoclonal Antibody Injection) – Covered up to 10% of Sum Insured, maximum INR 50,000 per policy period.
- Intravitreal Injections – Covered up to 10% of Sum Insured, maximum INR 50,000 per policy period.
- Bronchial Thermoplasty – Covered up to 10% of Sum Insured, maximum INR 1,00,000 per policy period.
- Vaporization of the Prostrate (Green laser or Holmium laser treatment) – Covered up to 10% of Sum Insured, maximum INR 50,000 per policy period.
- Intraoperative Neuro Monitoring (IONM) – Covered up to 10% of Sum Insured, maximum INR 50,000 per policy period.
External Congenital Ailments
Covered in case of life-threatening conditions, within the corresponding Family Floater Sum Insured, starting from INR 10 lakhs only, subject to a maximum coverage of INR 10 lakhs during the policy period.
Internal Congenital Ailments
Covered as per policy terms.
Personal Accident Insurance (GPA) – Plan Details
- Coverage is applicable only to the Primary Member (NORKA ID Card Holder)
(Family members are not covered under GPA) - Members opting for ₹5 lakh GMC plan receive:
- ₹10 lakh GPA coverage
- Members opting for ₹10 lakh to ₹1 crore GMC plans receive:
- GPA coverage equal to the selected Sum Insured
- Body Repatriation Benefit:
- Within India: ₹25,000
- Outside India: ₹50,000
- Permanent Total Disability (due to accident):
Covered up to 100% of the Sum Insured

How to Avail Claims under NORKA Care Plus
Cashless Treatment Procedure
- At the time of hospital admission, submit the E-Card and a valid Government Photo ID at the hospital’s Insurance Desk.
- The hospital Insurance Desk will notify the TPA (Third Party Administrator) and upload the required admission documents on the TPA portal to obtain cashless authorization.
- The TPA will verify the submitted documents and grant approval for cashless treatment.
- All claim-related updates, from admission until discharge, will be available in real time through the mobile application.
- On the day of discharge, beneficiaries can view the submitted documents and approved claim amount via the mobile application.
- In case of delays by the hospital in submitting documents, the beneficiary may contact the Toll-Free Number: 1800 2022 501 for assistance and timely discharge.
Reimbursement Claim Procedure
- In emergency situations where treatment is taken at a hospital not empanelled for cashless service, claims can be processed under the reimbursement facility.
- Download the Reimbursement Claim Form from the mobile application.
- Complete the form at the hospital Insurance Desk and obtain the doctor’s signature and hospital seal.
- Collect all original documents, including:
- Hospital bills
- Medical reports
- Payment receipts
- Discharge summary
- Submit the completed claim form along with all original documents, including:
- Cancelled cheque of the NORKA ID card holder
- Patient’s Photo ID proof
These must be sent to the address mentioned on the second page of the E-Card via courier or post.
(It is advisable to retain copies of all submitted documents for future reference.)
- Claim status can be tracked through the mobile application. For assistance, beneficiaries may call the Toll-Free Number: 1800 2022 501.
- Toll-free support is available 24 hours a day.
- Reimbursement claims must be submitted within 30 days from the date of discharge, failing which the claim may not be considered.

- Users can view the state-wise and city-wise list of cashless network hospitals.
- Users can check the real-time status of submitted claims.
- Users can access details related to claim queries and correspondence.
